Is there a "normalized speed" or similar multi-dimension score in running?
Is there a "normalized speed" or similar multi-dimension score in running?
Asking here per SE Sports suggestion
I started to run, from zero. It is tough (I am aiming 6 min/km over 5 km but it is nowhere close to the radar screen). I need all the help I can get.
I noticed that running uphill is noticeably harder than on flat surfaces, and "up" is harder than "down" is easier. This made me wonder whether there is a "normalized speed" where the current slope would be taken into account. Or another similar metric.
My goal is to cheat my brain by giving him the opportunity to stare at normalized speed over different circuits. I run in reasonably flat places (~40 m cumulated of ascension (and descent as I run in close circuts))
