Does running reduce strength gains from weightlifting?

Does running reduce strength gains from weightlifting? I go to the gym once every 2-3 days, and I've built up solid overall strength on my main lifts. Recently, I started running daily for half an hour to build cardiovascular fitness. However, some of my gym partners warned me to stop running daily, claiming that concurrent endurance training will interfere with my strength progression and even cause me to lose peak power in key lifts like the bench press and shoulder press. I've worked hard to reach my current strength levels and don't want to compromise my progress. Does running daily actually blunt strength adaptation and muscle force output? If so, what are the best training methods to structure running alongside heavy strength training so I can improve overall functional strength safely and effectively without hitting a plateau? Additionally, would lower-intensity activities like brisk walking be a safer alternative to preserve raw power while still conditioning?
