Canopy roof is pulling away from the house--how to replace it and properly attach it?

Canopy roof is pulling away from the house--how to replace it and properly attach it? There is a narrow but wide canopy roof that is separating from my 40 year-old house. This is a cantilevered "roof" with no vertical posts/supports (see photo). The only purpose it really serves is to shade the windows below it, and channel rainwater away from the foundation. The framing (trusses) jut out 24" from the house and are 13" tall where they attach to the plates/rim-joists (see drawings). It spans along the front of the house for 36' between two courses of windows. It is fastened to the top plates/joists with only toe-nails. In the attached photos you can see where it is pulling away. It has typical residential asphalt shingle roofing on top and has a facia that supports a gutter. I would like to tear this down and replace it, and secure it a little better than the original construction. I am 64 y/o and don't necessarily need it to last 100 years, but I would like to improve upon it if possible. I do not want to add bottom supports. I attached drawings showing how it is currently constructed.
