What is the proper way to shim a water heater?
My electric water heater sits in the basement floor and the location is not completely flat. To stop its rocking, I had to slide shims under it to fill gaps roughly 1/16” to 1/8”. I planned on 3D printing some plastic shims to replace the wood ones but I am wondering if I should make sure the entire bottom is supported.
Should I spray some expanding foam under the unit as well? Am I overthinking this?
