Community Guidelines
The short version: ask real questions, answer with real experience, and be honest about what you actually know.
Our anti-AI pledge
PathTested exists because a search engine or a chatbot can summarize an article about something, but it can't tell you how it actually felt to go through it. We ask everyone to write their own answers, in their own words, based on what they actually experienced. Posting AI-generated answers, or content copied from elsewhere and passed off as your own, isn't allowed and will be removed.
"Personally experienced" is a claim, not a verification
Answers can be marked "Personally experienced" when the author says they've actually gone through what they're describing. This is a trust signal based on the person's own word — PathTested does not verify it and it is never professional certification of any kind. Treat every answer, marked or not, as one person's real but subjective account, not a guarantee.
Not a substitute for professional advice
Answers here are personal experiences, not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. This matters most for high-risk topics — health, legal situations, large financial decisions, safety — where a stranger's individual experience may not apply to your situation. When in doubt, treat what you read as one data point and check with a qualified professional.
What's not allowed
- Spam, or content whose real purpose is manipulating search rankings rather than helping anyone
- Plagiarized content, or content copied from another source without the right to share it
- Fabricated experiences presented as if they were real
- Instructions for dangerous, illegal, or clearly harmful activity
- Harassment, hate speech, or content that targets a specific person
- Content you don't have the rights to post — see our copyright policy
