Lodging for one-day visit to Panama Canal
Assume:
flying in to PTY in the evening
next day is for Panama Canal site-seeing
fly out the next morning
I am trying to decide between a hotel near the canal or in the city center. Most hotels seem to be under $150. Not sure if it makes sense to post up in a hotel very close to the canal or in the city center.
Question: What are the relevant local facts (e.g. transportation / traffic, safety etc.) drive selecting lodging location? If you have actual experience (ideally recent), please indicate this in your response.
